O wikipedia define o wu-tang clan como "um grupo de rap americano, formado por 9 integrantes, RZA, GZA, Method Man, Inspectah Deck, Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, U-God, Masta Killa e o falecido Ol' Dirty Bastard.

Na verdade, eles são o maior fenômeno do hip hop mundial desde sua formação, em 1992. O nome vem de uma homenagem a filme de artes marciais de Hong Kong 1981 "Shaolin and Wun Tang" (original: Shao Lin yu Wu Dang). Em toda sua tragetória, as artes marciais estão presentes, seja numa decoração em capa de um cd, seja num elemento dentro de seus beats ou a até mesmo em seus trabalhos fora da música, como nos games criados pela sony para playstation que traz todo o estilo wu.

E por falar em estilo, a wu-wear é o estilo wu tang em forma de roupas. A marca foi criada tempos após o grupo já estar na estrada e foi licenciada em países como Alemanha, Brasil, Romênia, Japão, entre outros.

• História

O Clan surgiu em 1992 com Ol' Dirty Bastard, RZA e GZA. Mais tarde outros 6 membros foram adicionados mudando a cara do rap, virou referência, virou uma febre, quase uma religião, com seguidores por todo mundo. Estrearam em 1993 com Enter The Wu-Tang (36 Chambers). Após GZA, Method Man, ODB e Raekwon terem lançado os seus projetos a solo, os Wu-Tang regressam em 1997 com Wu-Tang Forever.
